I originally found this author through a link to her freebie 'The Highlander's Hope', which I really liked and gave 4 stars. Ever since then things have been going downhill. I saw that this one was on special for $1 and I didn't remember reading the first; 'One Sweet Summer'. As I began to read this book, I began to remember and it wasn't good. I then checked my review and saw that I said I probably wouldn't read another in this series and I wish I'd heeded my own review. This book was awful from the start. I really don't remember her first books being so smutty and this one was really smutty from the start. The writing wasn't good (lots of mistakes) and the story was incredibly far-fetched in all aspects. The other common denominator in the last 3 books I've read by this author is that her female leads have been unlikeable and this one is a pain in the butt.

The h meets and has sex with the 'piratey' H the first day she meets him (smutty) and then within 2 days he betrays her trust (he didn't disclose who he was) so she won't have anything to do with him because he lied. We read this over and over and over again. This lasts all of 2 days!! He declares his love for her in this period!! I've no idea why - major insta-love. Then there's the psuedo Dom/Sub thing being hinted at all the way through until we get into that later (more smut). I'm not going to even go down the pirate treasure premise because it's ridiculous.

I will not be reading any more books by this author

This is the second book of the series! I absolutely loved the first book, so of course I had to read the second. While this book wasn't horrible, it didn't stand up to the first book.
I found Cali MacKay through my Daily reads email. I enjoyed her book so much, I bought all the books in that series. HOT, sexy and great story line.
I fell in love with this book! Love is the best treasure you can find and this book showed it 100%. Great job Cali MacKay!! Now on to the next book!
I loved the book. I read the first one and wasnt able to get the 2nd one so I downloaded . I am now hooked on so I am going to get my books there from now on thanks so much ☺
I just got done reading this series and it was such a great story I love that the women in the story weren't a push over for a nice muscled body and good looks, they fought for what they wanted and took as good as they got, great series I loved it for sure hope thier are more books to come in this series, love it thanks Cali...
I started this book and could not stop reading it. It appears I am addicted to another amazing author.

Lucy, is an amazing leading lady and Niall is so frustrating at times, he is a man so I guess that is to be expected.) Pirates, a treasure, lust and maybe a chance at love has all of the elements for a wonderful and exciting romance story. I am excited to read about Ethan next!!
Lucy and Niall are descendant from two different countries who were part of a legend buried on Mermaid Island. Niall came from Scotland to find the treasure for his father who is dying and was obsessed with the treasure . Lucy recently found a journal from her anaesthesia and was researching the lost treasure. Niall walked into her coffee shop and turns her world upside down. Together they find treasures in more than one form. A must read.
